Plyometrics is a type of exercise training that uses the speed and force of different movements to build muscle power. Plyometrics training is renowned for being able to improve physical performance and the ability to do different activities.
Examples of plyometric exercises include box jumps (which I do a lot in the course of my training!), reverse lunge knee-ups, burpees, clapping push-ups (another of my favourites) and tuck jumps.

Explosive exercises have their place, as in this example, and are a welcome change if you find yourself constantly pumping weights or using resistance machines.
