Everyone, when they workout, has a favourite muscle group of fitness goal. For some people, it's the chest, shoulders or the ability to run a certain distance under a specific time. For myself, I get a real buzz from whole-body workouts, from running and in working my legs.
I love working my legs!
But it is important, whatever your preference, to never forget the importance of a solid core muscle group. Without this strong central belt of muscles, we are vulnerable to a whole host of potential back and spinal problems, as well as poor posture. Luckily exercises to strengthen and maintain a strong core are relatively straightforward and can be delivered with little or no equipment.
I cover some of these, as an example in this video (as well as a squat for the legs!) as a starter.
So, if you are not exercising your core at the moment, get to it, and don't forget the importance of this vital muscle group!
