Do you grow weary hearing advice about how to exercise properly?
Welcome to my world! I spend a lot of time researching effective exercises (as well as working with clients and playing rugby). After a while, you become aware of the best techniques and methods, but it is useful to remind ourselves now and again of the key training principles and why they are so important.
I wrote about this topic recently and also offered another of my regular training guides in a similar vein (see my blog for more!). As those who know me will be aware, I always promote using proven sports training techniques when exercising, partly because they have their foundations in the mental challenge of winning when competing on a pitch. In my opinion, fitness training should be challenging and demanding. It should also be rewarding and energising, something which can get lost in personal training when the process can easily become overly mechanical.
So, take time to learn the proven techniques where exercise is concerned, but also never lose sight of the mental dimension to training when doing so.
Success on the gym floor will follow.
