It is easy to get into a rut where exercise is concerned.
How we exercise, what we do, when we workout, everything can become repetitious and routine, which itself can become a problem. Because when we fall into a familiar routine when exercising we can stop feeling the benefits in terms of challenging our body and mind.
When this happens we can then plateau, stop making progress and lose the stimulation that turns into motivation to exercise.
So keep mixing up and changing the workout that is followed, perhaps not a daily basis (!) but certainly from time to time. By doing this we keep our minds and muscle alert and we challenge ourselves.
This can also extend to where we exercise. Just because we may be a member of a gym does not mean we always have to workout there. Outside the gym walls is a whole world of fitness opportunity and fresh air, something which was brought home to many of us during the recent lockdown(s).
So, like the wonderful Mick in the video here, enjoy the opportunity to exercise outside if the weather and mood are right. Your body and mind with thank you for doing so.
