
As some may have noticed, I am away from the gym floor right now, and enjoying some time out on the Caribbean island of Martinique (pictured).
Some people who follow a fitness programme frown on taking time out to not exercise and just relax. I even know of some hardcore gym members who, when they go away, exercising while on holiday (even in their hotel room if a gym is not close enough).
I do not encourage this kind of behaviour.
Vacations and to take a breath and to relax. They are rewards for the hard work we put into life, training and paying the bills. Without such time out, life can lose its colour and texture, it can become routine.
So if you have opportunity to do so, take regular breaks from whatever it is you are doing and enjoy the sunrises (and sunsets).
Your workout will always be waiting for you on your return.
