There is a lot of speculation right now about what will happen when the gyms re-open in London in a couple of weeks. The media, in particular, have been running a variety of stories on this recently with less than helpful speculation on the restrictions that will be in place when those gym doors finally do re-open.
Many people have been in touch with me about this, expressing their concerns and reservations at what they believe will be a reduced and less rewarding service offer when the gyms welcome back members and casual gym-goers. A lot of people are also speculating that they will hold back and not return to the gym floor for some time yet (and certainly not before the situation is clearer than it is).
I understand these concerns and the reservations people have. Both are entirely natural.
For myself, I will be returning to my gym, Jubilee Hall Covent Garden, as soon as possible and I will share what I discover when I do so. In the meantime, I encourage everyone to be as adaptive as possible in the current situation and to take whatever positives and opportunities are on offer to maintain or build their fitness lifestyle. Where exercise and health is concerned the time we dedicate to training is the investment we make in the future, no matter how restricted that investment may appear.
So, remain adaptive and keep training.
Your future self will thank you for doing so.
