
It's that time of the year when the priorities for many are food, something sparkling to drink and enjoying the season with family and friends (if we have the opportunity to do so).
Don't worry if this makes you wonder how much weight you might be putting on or whether it might knock you off your training programme. The reality is that we can easily step out of our usual healthy eating, diet and training programme for short periods (a few weeks, for example) without it having a detrimental effect on our fitness. Returning to training and a less indulgent diet after a few weeks of resting and relaxing is not a problem, as our bodies can bounce back to our usual routine.
So, enjoy the season and don't drain it of its energy and flavour with guilt or worry.
And enjoy the New Year celebrations while you are at it!
