Protein supplements can be popular with some people when they go to the gym, particularly if bulking-up and adding muscle are one of the objectives when working out.
I like to get the protein I need from the natural, whole foods that I eat as part of a balanced diet and I encourage others to go down this route. It’s simple enough to do and, though it may involve a little research as to what foods are high protein, it does pay off in terms of getting the nutrients that may be needed and enjoying a balanced diet.
In the world of protein supplements, whey supplements are very popular, as are soya protein supplements.
Soya protein is popular, particularly with vegans (for obvious reasons!), but can also be used by anyone working out and looking to push their protein intake. A typical 100 grams of soya protein contains 90 grams of protein and is lactose and dairy-free, which some people find useful if they want to avoid discomfort in the stomach after taking.
Soya protein obviously has certain benefits over whey protein in the above regard.
For myself, however, I think I will stick with the fish, chicken, beef and beans to get my protein.
